Chia seeds come from Salvia hispanica, a sage plant that grows in Mexico. Aztec warriors who needed a source of energy and highly-concentrated nutrition used chia as a survival ration. One tablespoon of chia seeds reportedly sustained them for 24 hours. Chia promotes weight loss due to its appetite-suppressing ability.

Guggul may support healthy weight loss due to its ability to stimulate thyroid hormone production. One of the components of guggul, guggulsterone, is a natural steroid complex that is responsible for the thyroid effect. Guggul can be used to treat obesity and elevated cholesterol.

Caralluma is an effective weight management herb. Controlled clinical trials on caralluma have clearly demonstrated that it suppresses appetite by inhibiting the hunger sensory mechanism of the hypothalamus. Caralluma inhibits fat synthesis by blocking the formation of acetyl coenzyme A and malonyl coenzyme A, which are the building blocks of fat synthesis. Caralluma also increases burning of fat by the body, making more energy available.

Green Coffee Bean Extracthas been found to promote weight loss. Caffeine from coffee promotes the release of fatty acids from stored body fat, while the chlorogenic acid assists the liver in processing fatty acids more efficiently. The combination of these factors contributes to weight loss.

Goji Berrieshave so many health benefits that they are actually considered to be an herbal supplement. People who consume goji berries on a daily basis notice benefits such as better eyesight, great hair color, improved libido, improvement in mood, more quality sleep, and higher energy levels. Dried goji berries are an excellent way to improve your health while enjoying a tasty treat!

Hi Sherri :) This recipe is not designed to be a meal replacement. It is rather a healthy alternative you might want to include in your daily diet~ Ivory :)

Probably a great drink to start the day with however the ingredients look hard to find. Also...can the recipes be put somewhere that we can print them? Maybe they are...I will check the recipe tab.

I like his complete explanation of what each ingredient is good for. It might help if he told us how much of each he was putting in. I was writing down the ingredients but could easily have put amounts and then I wouldn't have to search for the recipe. I saw the recipe at the end but could not print it.
