FMTV - Sick to Death!

Sick to Death!

Runtime: 86m 25s | Release date: 2017

Please be advised that this video contains content not suited for children.

After drinking radioactive iodine to kill her overactive thyroid, filmmaker Maggie Hadleigh-West catapults into illness and the medical industry's negligent treatment of thyroid disease. Sick to Death! reveals Maggie's disturbing 30-year struggle to regain her spiraling health, telling the story of life with chronic illness, its correlation with other maladies and its collision with medical corruption.

Sick to Death! gives voice to the experience of millions of individuals worldwide who have suffered and are inadequately or untreated. Featuring experts, activists and a powerful growing international movement, the film demands medical justice for all.

Sick to Death! isn't your typical medical film. Instead, it's a deeply intimate portrait, sometimes scathing, sometimes funny but always a rousing invitation to life, health and justice.

Maggie Hadleigh-West
Dr. Kent Holtorf

Hi Elizabeth, sorry to hear about your current health condition. Firstly, we would encourage you to seek one-on-one support from a Health Practitioner as they will be able to provide advice with consideration to your specific circumstance. You can browse through our incredible hand-picked Practitioners, and book in for a consultation here: https://store.foodmatters.com/collections/health-practitioners. In addition, I would suggest checking out this video interview with Angela Stokes-Monarch, wherein she shared how she was able to turn her health and life around after being diagnosed of a thyroid condition and seeing her weight increased to nearly 300lbs: https://www.fmtv.com/watch/angela-stokes-monarch. Additionally, here are some other videos on thyroid health and thyroid disorders that you might also find useful: https://www.fmtv.com/watch/healthy-gut-summit-autoimmune and https://www.fmtv.com/watch/healthy-gut-summit-thyroid. What's the name of the medicine she and her doctor are talking about at 1.18 that she is saying if can cure Lymes? Zeldoxine? I can't find anything with that name and I'm not sure I hear it well. Thank you.

Look into Dr. Zhang NYC. I took a friend to his office June 1, 2018. She had brain fog, trouble walking, anxiety, insomnia etc. She felt better within a week. Seven weeks into treatment she feels 1000% better

I have to agree with Lorraine. I found it a bit weird in parts. I'm from the UK but my dr won't prescribed anything other than Levothyroxine. I've not felt well for over 20 years when I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism. Now I have lots of other autoimmune disorders and my health is terrible. My 76 yr old neighbour has more energy than me and I'm only 52! I'm disheartened, it's like drs just don't care.

Anne, i have Hypothyroidism and Hashimotos, same age as you. You have to go to a private doctor who specialises in female hormones and is holistic, mostly in London, Harley St. It's expensive but its the best money you can spend, its what I have done (I don't live in London). I tried the GP but they don't have the time or resources. Getting the right medication for Hypothyroidism is crucial taken nearly a year for me to get the right level and type of medication. NHS don't offer anything else apart from levothyroxine, they just don't have the financial resources. Also if you haven't already I recommend these 2 books Aviva Romm -Thyroid Revolution and Izabella Wentz Hashimoto's Protocol. Diet is key and I'm 100% gluten free and my thyroid antibodies are slowly coming down. Hope this info helps you. warmest wishes Lorraine
