Locavore

Runtime: 90m 49s | Release date: 2009

The four biggest challenges facing America are: economic recession, health crisis, worldwide energy crunch and an environmental collapse. Food is a common factor in today’s challenges of the economy, health, energy, and environment. Eating locally is the most pro-active response and creates more American jobs, diminishes your carbon footprint, and increases the health of the future generations.

This film is about empowering all Americans with the knowledge to return our nation to an economically prosperous land, to revitalize health and vitality, to dramatically reduce our energy use, and to rejuvenate our environment. If you care about our future, step up to your dinner plate and become a locavore. Our future depends on you. Join the Locavore Movement and reshape the world one bite at a time.

That was a delightful film with good practical information- more power to the growers of food the eaters with local preferences and those who carry the word to encourage best practice for individuals, farmers, communities and the sanity that comes with taking back the power and implementing simple loving Heath promoting choices on so many levels.... it was interesting to hear for Australian oranges and beans in the USA and here we get California oranges etc and I wonder why? I go to my farmers market and support the local supermarket that has preference for local and organic - ' voted the best supermarket I the world'it says walk in and grab a free piece of fruit , have a glass of infused spring water .....And local musicians play often , best range of affordable organic produce and dietary needs diversity goods - I am lucky and we grow our own greens at home where we can although we are on a main road .... out the back s fine and replacing trees with produce trees when something new needs to be put in he ground - even violets for salad and cake decoration... nice .. feels-good

Really enjoying this video, but it is not loading properly. I restarted my computer and have ample access to wifi. Is there anything else to be done? The video pauses every couple minutes.

Thank you once again. It has given me more knowledge to help me with my own gardens. I built my own small greenhouse with lumber, now have 11 raised beds in my small yard, planted fruit trees and the work continues. At 60 years old I find myself building a new life for myself based on organic wellness.
