This sounds like it is my problem, but why don't doctors know that this exists? My primary says IBS and now I'm gong to a gastroenterologist but feel discouraged because of doctors attitudes / lack of knowledge. My doctor is young and she is very nice and helpful but may not know about this. I've been trying to fix my problem using green smoothies, vegetables, and other good foods but the fiber in foods such as the smoothies themselves and even non gluten oatmeal - ( WHO reacts to oatmeal???) is giving me gas, pains, and diarrhea. HELP! The smoothies are helping me have more and easier bowel movements, but my system doesn't seem to like fiber. I want to continue with this but they are helping and then they are not. It's very upsetting and confusing.
