FMTV - Green Chocolate Mint Smoothie

Green Chocolate Mint Smoothie

Exclusive on FMTV

Series: Food Matters Smoothie Recipes | Episode: 11 | Runtime: 3m 22s | Release date: 2017

This green smoothie recipe tastes just like mint chocolate chip ice cream - sans bloating and sugar overload.

Serves: 1

Why it is good for you:

One of the star ingredients in this smoothie is raw cacao. Raw cacao offers amazing health benefits for your entire body!

Cacao is one of the healthiest foods you can consume. Cacao contains the mood improver anandamide – known as the bliss molecule – which creates a feeling of euphoria. Another mood-enhancing compound found in cacao is PEA or phenylethylamine, which triggers the release of endorphins and pleasurable opium-like neurochemicals.

It also helps protect you against heart disease, prevents premature aging, boosts energy, prevents sunburn, helps improve brain function and helps improve your metabolism.

Featuring:
James Colquhoun

I’m also wondering about collagen as a supplement here- not as a protein one (I use hemp seeds), but in addition. I find this too much to drink for one sitting. I used a mango, because it was ready to eat and the banana can wait a day.

I used collagen powder by organization as protein powder. Is this ok?

That should be fine, Maria! And if you find you feel hungry, you may add 2 servings as collagen generally has a smaller amount of protein compared to protein powders. Hope this helps :) Happy cleansing! ~ Iris

Not hungry and very satisfied, no misshaps. However I slept 10 hrs and woke up with head ache and inflammation in my body. My mind is slow and foggy... is this common?
