FMTV - Farmageddon

Farmageddon

Runtime: 86m 25s | Release date: 2010

This film features: Joel Salatin.

Producer Kristin Canty’s film, Farmageddon, documents as her quest to find healthy food for her four children turns into an educational journey to discover why she is denied the freedom to select the foods of her choice from the producer of her choice.

Please be advised, the following footage contains graphic imagery that may be disturbing /upsetting to some viewers.

The movie tells the story of small, family farmers providing safe and healthy foods to their communities who were forced to stop, often through violent action, by agents of misguided government bureaucracies. The movie succinctly poses and addresses the question, “Why is this happening in 21st century America?”

Evoking both sympathy and anger for those farmers violently shut down by overzealous government policy and regulators, Farmageddon stresses the urgency of food freedom. Though the film deals with intense scenes and dramatic situations, the overall tone is optimistic, encouraging farmers and consumers alike to take action to preserve individuals’ rights to access food of their choice and farmers’ rights to produce these foods.

Awesome movie. It is a wake-up call for the whole world. So much for 'making America great again - time to start looking for the enemy within the country. Whatever happened to democracy!

Our local caravan park at Hounville Tasmania (Huon Valley Caravan Park) had a cow and were allowing the kids that stayed there a squirt straight out of the teat, the kids would laugh and wipe milk from there faces as the next kid got squirted. No more though apparently it goes against health regulations :( cant teach kids the old fashioned way were milk comes from.

I am loving this film smh. I grew up on raw along with other families. As children we were never sick and the government needs to stay out of peoples business. If people are healthy money can't be made ... Greed. I would love to see people drinking raw milk but we must continue to spread the word of healthy living. Thank you for a great documentary.

Here in Canada there is nowhere to get raw milk, as it is illegal to sell it. For more than two decades, Michael Schmidt has been fighting the Ontario government — and others across the country — for the right to sell raw milk. I have signed many petitions throughout the years trying to get this changed here in my country. The issue is not if there are benefits or not for consuming raw milk. Are there benefits to smoking cigarettes? The government allows that people can smoke. They can make that choice. So, the real issue is about CHOICE! I want the right to choose!

I loved this film, just as I loved the movie "Les Enfants Nous Accuseront". They really are a call to action.....we continue to degrade everything and take no responsibility whatsoever.....sad really.....I'm not really sure that I will see the changes in my lifetime but I will continue to tell everyone I know what is happening and your documentaries continue to amaze...thank you so much!!!
