From the filmmakers & founders of Food Matters, James Colquhoun and Laurentine ten Bosch bring you Baby Matters - an extended interview series featuring their personal experience with the birth of their son Hugo. From preconception to birth, and 6 months postpartum.

James & Laurentine begin their story from preconception, the challenges they faced during this time, the nutritional therapy they chose to have a natural conception, and how they overcame hormonal hurdles. During the gestational period the pair delve into their encounters with common myths and taboo topics around food & nutrition during pregnancy, including detoxing, supplementing and raw foods, and how this affected the nourishment of their baby during the growth period.

Along with pregnancy nutrition, James & Laurentine explore the concept of becoming connected to Hugo from conception to birth and discuss how they created a safe and welcoming space for Hugo’s arrival.

The Baby Matters series also includes an exclusive interview with 0-3 baby educator Ruthanne Tregaskis. Ruthanne shares her expert tips on how to nurture baby from birth to 5 months and how to prepare your home for your newborn.

Interviews:

  • Preconception Interview With James & Laurentine
  • Post Birth Interview With James & Laurentine
  • Preparing Your Home For Your Newborn - Ruthanne Tregaskis

Don’t forget to download the Baby Matters shopping list from the resources section, which features Laurentine's favorite pregnancy and baby items to help you get prepared when expecting.

Hi Sandra, we suggest to begin adding fermented foods such as sauerkraut, tempeh, kefir, fermented salsa, yogurt or kimchi into your diet. These foods are rich in good probiotics. Here are some recipes for you to try: https://www.gaia.com/search?q=probiotic. Hope this helps ❤️ ~ Iris@FMTV

It's a good job that this hub is not just for vegan's and more about living a healthy life no matter what your beliefs are in regards to nutrition...

My son had extreme eczema as a baby . I breast feed for 4 months but found very stressful trying to eliminate foods from my diet my health and well being suffered ........ I tried dairy free formulas (spent a fortune) but none agreed with him .... I finally tried fresh goats milk and he never looked back ... He is now 27 and has beautiful skin .... ( he still can't over do dairy, strawberries and orange)
