Hi Alia! Wheatgrass is part of the wheat family, however, it does not contain gluten. This is because wheatgrass has been sprouted and no longer carries gluten or other allergic agents. Hope this helps! ~ Jasmin

Hello!
Is this challenge suitable for pregnant and breastfeeding women? If they are healthy.

Hello Natalya, doing a cleanse or detox while breastfeeding generally isn't a good idea as excess toxins and heavy metals will end up circulating to your baby, this is also a time to build, rather than cleanse to ensure that your baby has all the necessary building blocks to start his/her life. I'd hold off doing this challenge until after you have finished breastfeeding and spend this time building up your nutrition by including as many good things in your diet as possible and gently crowding out anything that isn't beneficial :)

I have had a look at the shopping list, and there are a couple of things I cant get where I live. Could you offer substitues for Papaya, Pomegranate, cherries and hemp seeds? Is orange or lemon an ok substitute for grapefruit? Also the foodmatters superfoods, i am guessing i can swap in greens for the green one, peas or beans and spirulina for the protein one, but what can I use instead of the vitamin C one?? Thanks, looking forward to a smoothie a day! :)

Hi James, for papaya, you may use mango, kiwi or peach as an alternative. For pomegranate, you can use pineapple or strawberries and use raspberries, strawberries or blackberries for cherries. For hemp seeds, you may use chia seeds or flax seeds. As for the Superfood Greens, you may use any good quality greens powder that you can find in your local health food store. Lastly, for the Superfood Protein and Superfood Vitamin C, please know that these are not part of the recipe ingredients, but options should you like to supercharge your smoothies with these blends to give them an extra boost! Feel free to use any good quality protein powder and vitamin C powder that you can find in your local health food store. I hope this helps and happy blending! :) ~ Iris
